Nestled on Via Michele Cipolla, this family-owned pizzeria has established itself as a local gem, delighting both residents and travelers alike for over 35 years. The charm of Ponfitt lies not just in its delicious offerings but in the warmth of its service—where friendly staff members like Maria Grazia and Lia make every visit feel like a gathering of friends rather than a mere transaction.
At Ponfitt, the pizza takes center stage. While the ambiance might not strike you as extravagant, the culinary experience will surely capture your heart. Reviewers rave about the mortadella pistachio pizza, a standout favorite among patrons. It's incredible how a simple combination of high-quality ingredients can create such an explosion of flavor. Even on busy nights, when the oven is about to close its doors, Ponfitt's commitment to customer satisfaction shines through as they go the extra mile to accommodate latecomers, serving free snacks and ensuring no one leaves disappointed.
The crust is traditionally thin, a classic nod to authentic Italian pizza, and while some may find it a personal preference, the taste itself is not to be questioned. Many have applauded the pizzeria's affordability, noting that you can enjoy a delicious meal without breaking the bank. You’ll find a welcoming local vibe here, where you can witness the artistry of pizza-making and interact with locals, truly immersing yourself in the Palermitan lifestyle.
As you take a seat, scan the English menu available for non-Italian speakers—this shows Ponfitt’s dedication to inclusivity. The laughter and chatter of locals, eager to dig into their favorite slices, create a lively atmosphere that enhances your dining experience. Planning a visit? Aim to arrive early, especially on weekends, to secure your spot in the eager line that often forms at this popular destination.

“ Family owned pizzeria, really recommended! Went Here 3 times during my long stay in Palermo and 2 great pizza’s. One time i came for nothing which was in the weekend, a row locals in front of the shop is always a good sign but this night thet were sold out of pizza’s :-) great for them, not for me lol. So be sure to come in not to late especially in the weekends! ”
“ If you want to get a more local experience go here. Seeing the food cook, serving regular customers it was a really welcome and fun. They've been there for 35 years and the pizza was great. Really lovely. ”
“ Pizza was great, but the experience, even better. They were closing when we arrived, nevertheless, they restarted the oven and solved our food emergency, it was late and everything else was closed. They gave us free snacks while we waited and the attention couldn't be warmer. Special thanks to Maria Grazia and Lia. You are amazing! ”
“ The place does not look special but the pizza is amazing So far my favorite mortadella pistachio pizza in Palermo The service was very friendly We have been offered with free slices of pizza to taste Definitely a place I would recommend ! ”
“ Excellent little place! The only concern, we arrived at 6pm when it says they open but it didn't open until 6:40pm It was worth it! The lady is very nice, didn't speak English but they have English menu with a QR code. ”
“ Delicious! It was not the best pizza we had on our trip but it was the cheapest and still very tasty! The staff is very nice and even though they do not speak English, there is an English menu available! My only personal issue was with the crust because it was thin, but the pizza in itself is excellent! I highly recommend! ”
“ The pizzas tasted excellent, even though there was no wood-fired oven. The service was very friendly. We ate our pizzas on site, although locals mainly use the restaurant for takeout, which is why there has been no focus on interior design and comfort. I definitely recommend it if you want to eat tasty pizzas at a competitive price. ”
